 TV Alert: Excellent Oprah Show TONIGHT on 'Sexual Fluidity' We just wanted to alert you all to an excellent Oprah Show airing tonight which discusses the topic of "sexual fluidity" and touches on some other important related issues. While the title of today's show is "Women Leaving Men for Other Women", the show shines a bright light on a number of related issues including:
- The little-discussed (until now) phenomenon of straight women developing "crushes" on lesbian women -- including an interview with TV's "Work Out" star (and apparent crush-target for many straight women ) Jackie Warner
- Lifelong straight women who suddenly fall for another woman -- some who remain in those relationships for years, and others who leave those relationships and return to relationships with men
- The impact on children of married straight women who later 'come out' as gay
- "Sexual fluidity" which is a phenomenon more closely identified with women -- gay and straight
- The Kinsey Scale of Human Sexuality and how men and women tend to fall on that scale in different proportional groupings
- And, how nice easily understood labels such as "gay", "lesbian", and "bisexual" don't necessarily fit many of the people profiled -- opening doors to new ways of thinking about human sexuality.
This is one of the best discussions I've seen on these topics, and I encourage everyone to watch and learn. The Oprah Show airs twice daily in the Phoenix area -- at 3:00pm and again TONIGHT at 8:00pm on Channel 3 in Phoenix. |
