Greetings!
Spring is bringing with it an amazing coming together of creative forces. We're entering a new level of our tribalness. We're calling in teachers like Kathy Altman, Maniko and (cross your fingers) Andrea Juhan this year. The Thursday night class in San Francisco is a beautiful cross-pollination of the bay area dancing tribes and another link in the growing web of worldwide ecstatic dancers. It's a good time to be moving! In the spirit of joining creative forces, I am delighted to be working with Maniko in the upcoming Diamond Voice workshop the weekend of May 2nd-4th. Many of you will remember her from her appearance at Tribal Spirit a couple of years ago. Some of you had the privilege of working with her in the Voice & Movement Resonance workshop. She is an extraordinary teacher and a wonderful human being. Please join us for this wonderful opportunity to nurture your creativity, to know the value of your authenticity and how it touches others, to bring new life to your innate gifts and become much more integrated, present, creative and connected. Our weekend will include movement, song, writing and sitting in silence. Dates, times and registration info are listed below.
For those of you with an itch to travel, I'll be
offering my first Heartbeat: In the Name of Love workshop in Austin, Texas, on the weekend
of May 16-18. The weekend
will be about embracing our fear in a way that helps us to own it,
embody it, move with it, and expand our capacity to recognize when
we are moving into fear and knowing that we have a choice about whether
we choose fear or love. For more information, contact Lisa DeLand. On the homefront, the time has come to upgrade our speakers at the Flex-It Gym. Our current system is showing its age and limitations, so we're coordinating a fundraising effort to purchase and install new speakers in the gym. In addition, we are establishing a fund that will be a resource for people who would like to study the 5Rhythms in depth and need financial assistance to do so.
Our goal is to raise $5000 by the end of June. Any funds not used in the purchase and installation of the speakers will be put aside for the scholarship fund. It is our intention that the speakers will belong to this scholarship fund. We're still working out the legal details on this and would gratefully accept any expertise in this field if you have time to donate to our efforts. Our volunteer coordinating team has contributed amazingly to this effort and many of you have already expressed an interest in donating to the silent auction and/or participating in the directory of services. Rather than go into detail here, we'd love to have you take a look at our PDF brochure which includes several creative ways to achieve
our goal. The brochure also addresses the whys and hows of the plan. We'd love for you to take and look and see if you're moved to join the efforts to meet our goal. In support of our fundraising goal, there will be a Benefit Sweat Your Prayers & Silent Auction featuring live music with Tandamanzi on Friday, June 13th. The Sweat Your Prayers and auction will be held at the Odd Fellows Hall in Redwood City. We'd love to see you there.
Enjoy the light of Spring, Lori
