A New Expression... The Darley Lama Blog
The Darley Lama is an expression that takes life a little less seriously and at the same
time, views the current state of the world as a mirror of global
consciousness.
The Darley Lama
is part rockstar, part guru; Bono meets Marianne Williamson, Pink meets
Deepak Chopra. The Darley Lama exists as a reminder that within each
and every one of us is a yearning to express our unique gifts in the
world.

Living on the Grid Maintaining Awareness in a New Age of Networking
|
Greetings!
Now that I'm Twitter-ing, Facebook-ing and emailing more these days, it seems like I'm spending an inordinate amount of time at the computer. It's not all "bad!" I also notice I'm writing more and using the 140-character Twitter experience as an opportunity to make points more concise and clearer.
I sometimes fine that the more time I spend connected to these sites, the less time I'm actually connected to myself, the things I want and even the things I value. It's a paradox we've only now had to acknowledge: with every tweet, post, update, comment, note, kudos and quiz, are we connecting or disconnecting?
It's easy to be distracted by everything else that's going on in those virtual spaces and forget to connect to the real space around me. What I've also found is that it's important to be clear about my intentions for each communication channel. What is my intention and is time and energy in line with that intention? Without the clear and specific intention, time slips away and I'm no closer to what I want.
These may not be your channels, but you may find yourself swept up and away by similar distractions. When I lost power for over three hours a couple of weeks ago, I realized the beauty of being unplugged and quickly reconnected with what was important to me. I've since committed to being "off the grid" at least 3 hours per day.
Where do you need to reclaim your life? What steps are you willing to take to do so? How will you be accountable to yourself to fulfill on that commitment? Stay connected, Lori Darley The Transitions Coach www.thetransitionscoach.com
