Issue 1

June 2011

Greetings!

Welcome to our first email newsletter!  We hope you will find it informative and a new way to stay on top of events and happenings at Main Street and in Vermilion.

Intern Nathan Obral

Intern Nathan Obral

Main Street Vermilion is pleased to introduce Nathan Obral to our members and the community.  Nathan is earning his last 4 credit hours at Cleveland State as an intern here at Main Street.  His major is Non-profit Administration.  Nathan will not only be working on our website and social networking, but will also take part in all aspects of the day-to-day life in a 501c3 organization. Nathan's 10 week internship will conclude on Friday, July 29th. He is already bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the organization and community and we hope he will find working here enriching also.

Wine and Cheese at the Museum

Wine and Cheese
Saturday, June 16th, 7:30-9:30P.M.
Inland Seas Maritime Museum

Main Street Vermilion invites the community to attend the annual Wine and Cheese reception for Vermilion in Bloom at the Museum. Tickets are $25.00 each and all profits from the event help pay for the hanging baskets, flowers on the bridge, and many other beautiful plantings throughout our community.  Tickets can be purchased at Brummers, the Main Street Building, or by calling Janet Ruh at 967-6923 or Beth Eberhard at 967-5502.  On your way to the Wine and Cheese party, stop and see some of the many musical entertainers throughout our downtown, all part of Vermilion's Third Thursday.

Vermilion Main Line Rail Platform Now Open

Main Line Rail Platform
Our new Main Line Rail Observation platform is complete and ready for use. There are benches, an access ramp and even an original train depot clock!  Information on the boards also directs train enthusiasts to other crossings in Vermilion.  Come and enjoy watching the trains - or workmen constructing the Quiet Zone!
