Welcome Guests
We welcome to shul this Shabbat morning participants in Imadi, a new post-high-school year in Israel learning program.  These students will be living in the neigbhorhood all year long and will be participating in a number of our educational programs, including our Tuesday Night Beit Midrash (see next entry).  For their first Shabbat in Jerusalem they will be joining us for dovening and then lunch afterwards.  Please extend a warm welcome.
Opening of the Tuesday Night Beit Midrash
Please join us for the special opening session of our Tuesday night beit midrash program on September 6th at 8 PM. At this time, the regular beit midrash program will be replaced by a special shiur by Rabbi Gedaliah Gurfein on the themes of Elul and Teshuva entitled: "Just because we've messed up doesn't mean we're messed up."

Following this opening session, the Tuesday night Beit Midrash will continue to meet every Tuesday at the same 8 PM time with the following two tracks:

1) An open beit midrash for people with their own hevrutot to come and learn their own topic; or

2) Small habura style classes for people of all levels:

8:00 PM Love your Neighbor (Aaron Poston)
8:20 PM Kli Yakar on Parsha (Aaron Poston)
8:50 PM Ramban on Parsha (Moshe Kuhr)
9:20 PM Mevaser Tov on Parsha (Micha Braun)

Beginning in October the Tuesday night Beit Midrash will expand to include the weekly participation of a few dozen students in the Imadi post high school year in Israel learning program.  Their involvement will be sure to add to the 'kol Torah' of the Beit Midrash, making it a more conducive environment for all of us to make Tuesday night at Shir Hadash a night of learning.
Important Yamim Noraim Update

Services this year will be led by Aaron Razel and Jason Gardner.

Only a few seats remain, so if you have not yet returned your membership form and reservations for the Yamim Noraim, please be sure to do so now.  If you have returned your forms but not yet made payment, please do so now as well.

To renew your membership (or to become a new member), and thus become eligible to reserve seats, simply download the below form.

MEMBERSHIP & YAMIM NORAIM SEATING FORM

For those who do not wish to become members this year, but would like to participate in the Yamim Noraim services, an additional notice will go out next week. If there are any remaining seats at that time, these seats will be made available to the general public at a non-membership rate.

Those that would like to become members and thereby support our ongoing programming but do not need Yamim Noraim seats may reduce their membership fee by 250 NIS or choose the Associate Membership Option (see form for more details).

Once complete, forms and payment may be either 1) Mailed to our Post Office Box (Shir Hadash / POB 8438 / German Colony / Jerusalem) or 2) Dropped off at our office on the top floor at our Cheyl Nashim location (in the 'mailbox' next to the entrance there).

Alternatively, you may send the completed form to [email protected] and send a check to either of the above locations. Or payments may be made by US and foreign credit cards here; unfortunately, we are not able to accept Israeli credit cards at this time.

Please note that discounts are available to all those who request them; see the form for more details.
