LAPS FOR LEARNING-DATE CHANGE!

Because there is a strong educational component to this fundraiser which involves proper writing skills and the actual writing of letters of sponsorship to family and friends, more preparation time is needed for students to complete this task in school. Not only is it a fundraiser, but an educational opportunity for our children as well. A new date will be announced.

THANK YOU!

The PTA would like to send out a special thank you to:

Rhonda Bennett and Claudia Cawley for helping organize the school storage closet-what a monstrous task it was!

Doris Graiff for donating cheese, crackers, and desserts for the New/Mentor Family Social.

Helping Hands Committee Member Suzanne Levari along with 8th grade students, Melanie Levari and Cara Owsley for babysitting during the New/Mentor Family Social.

The PTA refreshment committee for the delicious goodies at parent/teacher conferences.

Ronnie & Sandi Dandrea for their generous donation of wine for the New/Mentor Family Welcome Social.

The Halloween committee, and particularly the chairperson, Mary Ann Harris, for an outstanding fun- filled event! 458 people from St. Mary's and  St. Padre Pio Parish attended.   Thank you to: Dave Saglimbeni and your crew for a great dinner; Bill & Grace Hoffner for your artistic talent in decorating the gym; the 7th & 8th grade students and their parents who volunteered their time; and the staff at St. Padre Pio Parish for your support and assistance.

Highlights of Sept. & Oct. PTA Events:

Welcome Back To School Breakfast:

This was something new this year. Parents were invited to have breakfast with their children and faculty/staff before heading off to work.

Welcome Back To School Social for Kindergarten:

This program was hosted for all new kindergarten parents.

It was an opportunity for Mrs. Hender & Mr. Hogan to briefly meet with new parents and discuss expectations of Kindergarten.

Catechism Mass Social: This was held on September 18th to kick-off a new school year for both St. Mary's School and St. Padre Pio CCD families. All the faculty/staff were given a special blessing by Fr. Pete.

Faith, Family, Fun Night Pizza Bingo was great fun for students and their families. There were many winners and plenty of prizes for for all.

New/Mentor Family Social was held on October 14th to welcome new families to our school.

Classroom Halloween Parties: Students had fun enjoying crafts, games and refreshments.  The 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students had fun helping their class buddies make their Halloween crafts.  The upper grade students then made cards and decorations which were given to residents at Bishop McCarthy- an example of living God's message to "Love One Another". Thank you to all of the parents who donated refreshments, supplies, and their time for the parties!
