CLASSROOM HALLOWEEN PARTY!
Friday, October 28th.
Kindergarten-8th grade 2:00-3:00pm.
The students will enjoy a craft and refreshments. No costumes please. Please contact your classroom PTA Representative listed on the attachment if you can donate something for the party and/or be a helper.
|
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Class PTA Representative:Link between Class Parents and PTA Board ~ called upon to assist with additional PTA activities as needed, works with each event coordinator and teacher to plan parties, collects all receipts and completes reports for events for PTA Treasurer for record keeping.
Class Event Coordinator:Each class event (Holiday Parties, Ethnic Lunch, Field Day) has one event coordinator. This should be a different person for each event to give more people the opportunity to be involved in planning class events. This person will plan that particular event in collaboration with the Class PTA Representative and the teacher.
Room Parent Helpers:Do you want to donate items for class events? Do you want to be a room helper? You may sign up to donate and/or help for one, a few, or all events. If you have more than one child, feel free to sign-up for some or all of your children's events.
How were Class Representatives and Coordinators chosen if there were more than one that volunteered? We did a random draw of the names.
|
IMPORTANT FACTS:
*Parents must indicate if they would like to be contacted to donate supplies for events and if they would like to be a helper in the classroom.
*The PTA Representative and the Event Coordinator will not contact Parents for the events - only those who have asked to be contacted ~ with the exception of Ethnic Lunch Day.
* ALL PARENTS must contribute food and/or supplies for ethnic lunch day since it takes the place of your child's lunch for the day. It is a great cultural event for the students - they love it!!!

A New Twist on Classroom Parties:
The students will make a religious oriented craft (with the exception of Halloween- may be secular). They will enjoy a couple of sweet treats, a healthy food option and beverages.
*6th, 7th, & 8th grade students will assist their buddies in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades with their holiday craft. They will then return to their classroom to make a craft to be delivered to SJ Hospital, the Villa or Bishop McCarthy and to enjoy their refreshments.
Every student will receive a party treat bag of non-food items for each of the holiday parties. Though your kindness is appreciated, we ask that parents not send in treat bags from their child for the rest of the class. Though it is a thoughtful gesture, many parents have commented on the excess amount of treats received from school. Please feel free to contribute to the class party bag.
|
GOAL OF ST. MARY'S SCHOOL PTA:
To give all parents the opportunity to participate in the children's classroom activities in a manner which best fits them ~ be it donating items, donating your time, or both. We appreciate all that you do for your children and their classmates to make the classroom parties and events a wonderful experience. "We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop."
-Mother Theresa of Calcutta
