Thank you to all who attended the HFA meeting on Wednesday!  We cannot stress enough how much it means that you are willing to take time from your busy and often hectic schedules to come together as a community.  You are the everyday heros for the youth of San Antonio, and we honor your commitment.    

Dr. Realini updated attendees about about developments in the Texas Legislature, both in the regular session and the special session.                                                                                           

We did some excellent work on HFA's Strategic Plan.  We reviewed the Strategic Plan that was developed with the help of HFA members' input at February's meeting.  In groups, participants explored the best ways for individuals and organizations to help move the plan forward.  We are focusing on 5 key areas: School-Based Education, Community-Based Education, Access to Teen Health Services, Messaging Campaign/Involving Teens, and Parent Programs.  Lots of great ideas were generated for putting the plan into action, and several participants committed to taking specific action to make it happen!    

HFA is a community coalition dedicated to reducing teen and unplanned pregnancy in San Antonio.  HFA has grown to 400 members, including community leaders, service providers, medical professionals, and community members.  With both "pro-choice" and "pro-life" members, HFA is making its voice heard in San Antonio and at the Capitol in Austin.   

We can all make a difference in preventing teen and unplanned pregnancy.
