Your Chance to Make a Difference at Wednesday's HFA Meeting!

Healthy Futures Alliance (HFA) Meeting

Wednesday, June 22

11:30 am to 1:00 pm

Community Room of the Mexican American Unity Council

2300 W. Commerce

San Antonio, TX 78207

We are so excited to present HFA's Strategic Plan and to hear your ideas for putting the plan into action!  We know what works to prevent teen and unplanned pregnancy, and it will take all of us working together to make it happen. This is your chance to do something about this important issue.

At Wednesday's meeting, participants will review the Strategic Plan that was developed with the help of HFA members' February input.  Then we will explore the best ways for individuals and organizations to help move the plan forward.  Participants will be able to offer ideas -- and to volunteer to help the plan.

We will also hear about developments in the Texas Legislature, both in the regular session and the special session.  There will also be updates on the evaluation of the R U Ready? materials that HFA developed last year for young adults, as well as a peek at HFA's new project for older teens and young adults.  Last, but not least, there will be free R U Ready? materials and ME NOW...baby later posters available!

HFA is a community coalition dedicated to reducing teen and unplanned pregnancy in San Antonio.  HFA has grown to 400 members, including community leaders, service providers, medical professionals, and community members.  With both "pro-choice" and "pro-life" members, HFA is making its voice heard in San Antonio and at the Capitol in Austin.

Lunch will be provided.

Please RSVP to mdelagarza@healthyfuturestx.org

The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy has created a new game for teens called My Paper Girlfriend.  This game is designed to raise awareness among teens about building healthy relationships.  Teens create their ideal girlfriend are presented with challenging situations that affect the levels of trust, communication, and respect in the relationship.  This game is a follow-up to the My Paper Boyfriend game.

Thanks to the National Campaign for another fabulous resource for teens!  Check out more of their great materials for teens at StayTeen.org
