It takes prayer, care, people and money ($30,000 from our own community, to be exact) to bring the ministries of The Crossing to life. If we pool our resources -- and invite others to share, too -- we can do this! Here's how:
GIVE NOW:
Click DONATE to give right now. And share the link with family, friends and others you think would love to help a ministry like The Crossing flourish.
PLEDGE FOR 2011:
Download and fill out this Giving @ The Crossing card to promise your support for the year to come. |

our mission | |
The Crossing is a community that seeks to walk in the life-changing, world-changing Way of Jesus, sharing the love, hope, beauty and justice of God in the city of Boston.
Everybody is welcome to join as we gather for transformative worship, spiritual practice and
authentic community; as we fuse the wisdom and mystery of ancient traditions with that of urban mystics, artists and activists; and as we move out to join God in healing, freeing and blessing all people, communities and the earth.

now that's evangelism! | |
I could tell you the stories and count the names of people who
helped to make our witness at this year's Pride Parade so full, beautiful and holy.
Minister for Justice & Action Vicki Morte organized us to truly represent, and for weeks our crews gathered on the lawn of the Life Together house in Brookline to build a float that unequivocally announces "God loves you and so do we!"
Gratitude is too small a word to say how much we owe everyone who made signs, built rainbow altar rails, brainstormed slogans, painted stained glass windows, marched in the rain, gave out candy and cards, danced on a moving flatbed, chanted, prayed. A whole lot of people know that God's name is Love today, and they know because we weren't afraid to say it.

THIS THURSDAY @ 6pm / Worship
Michael Zahniser preaches on Matthew 28:16-20 (read below for the passage) -- all about the Trinity. Adwoa Lewis Wilson leads the spiritual practice: prayer postures.
For directions and lots more, go to www.thecrossingboston.org.
AND: Bring $15-$20 and buy the first ever Crossing t-shirt. We got plenty, and they come in "curvy" and "boxy" (formerly known as "women's" and "unisex," but this works so much better).
THIS THURSDAY after WORSHIP / Fajitas n Ritas and Episco-Disco
We figured out something very important last month for Episco-Disco: the music and the dancing is much better at Sweetwater Cafe, next door to our old haunt, Estate. So stick around and join us for cheap food and drinks at Fajitas n Ritas, followed by dancing. Ask Rev. Steph about the history of Sweetwater -- there's a great reason why we should be dancing & praying there!
THURS., JUNE 23 after Worship / BIRTHDAY PARTY POSTPONED
Stay for Dinner and Pledge-Card Party
We admit it: Pride was fantastic and it wore many of us out! So we've pushed our Crossing 5th Birthday Party to September, when we can give it the focus it deserves (and hold it on Boston Common, which is booked 6/23).
BUT the effort to raise funds and grow generosity @ The Crossing continues. BRING YOUR BUDGET next week and stay after worship. We'll have a pledge-card party and help each other to commit to giving to God's work in our midst.

Welcome to Pentecost, the season of the Holy Spirit. Read on for Matthew's gospel and other resources for prayer and meditation.
Matthew 28:16-20
| Kathy Thaden's "Unquenchable Spirit" at www.ecva.org |
The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesushad directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
Collect for this Sunday (or thematic prayer, appointed to complement the reading) from the Book of Common Prayer
Almighty and everlasting God, you have given to us your servants grace, by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of your divine Majesty to worship the Unity: Keep us steadfast in this faith and worship, and bring us at last to see you in your one and eternal glory, O Father; who with the Son and the Holy Spirit live and reign, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
