HELPFUL HINTS FOR "SMALL, SMALL" BUSINESSES
Many "small, small" businesses struggle with promotions, marketing, finance, etc. By the way, I classify business as "small, small" as businesses with four or less employees. So here are some helpful hints for those businesses:
  1. Use your advertising/promotion dollars wisely. What ever media you choose, hold them accountable for increasing your sales and get customers into your business.Be careful about Sponsor Ads. Advertise when business is slow.
  2. Network, network, network! Potential customers need to know who you are, where you are, and what is your product and or service. Join business organizations such as Chambers, Rotary, Fortnightly, BNI etc. Get your name out there.
  3. Create a focus group of good customers and ask them to evaluate (no holds barred) your business. How can it be improved?
  4. Take advantage of the Internet, Facebook is a must, a Web site is helpful.
  5. Check with local colleges to see if they offer a course in any area you need help. You don't have to take a program, you can enroll in a course.
  6. Check with local chambers to see what business services are available from state or national organizations. Many are free. Chambers are there to help.
