BIZSTART BARRON COUNTY 
 
A new small business start-up program has been created in Barron County called BIZSTART Barron County, Prospective
entrepreneurs can get free confidential one on one counseling with Jim Mishefske from University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire SBDC. Appointments are held here once a month, free of charge. The next will be Thursday, April 5th. Call 715-234-2126.

Jim also recommends businesses to consider attending the Financial Management Series offered at UWEC designed for small business owners and non-financial managers. There will be 4 evening sessions providing proven techniques to help you confidently interpret financial data.

Barron County Economic Development Corporation will host the 1st annual Economic Gardening Conference in Rice Lake, WI. on May 2nd, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.at the WITC Conference Center in Rice lake.
 
The conference's primary focus is to give business leaders and economic development representatives the tools necessary to cultivate viable business development programs that will strengthen their communities, regions and states. Guest speakers are Chris Gibbons (co-founder) and Mark Lange (team member).

 Farm Technology Days 2013  

 

The Farm Technology Days Committee is already busy organizing and making plans for when they visit this years' Farm Technology Days. They will be putting together packets of information inviting the vendors there  to come here for the following year. If you are contacted, please help them out! This is a huge endeavor and will be bringing in thousands of people!

Worksite Wellness Training                          Safe & Stable Families Coalition 
 
Be Well Barron County is hosting a free worksite wellness training for all Barron County businesses on April 12th, 2012. This training will teach employees/employers how to start a worksite wellness program at their workplace.

We have three banner ad spaces available for anyone of our members interested in having their ad on the Economic Development page on the Chamber's website. 

 

The cost is $50 a month (billed quarterly at $150), plus the one time set-up fee which depends on your ad.
