El Paso Electric Moves To Implement SB 1910 "True" Net Metering Requirements

El Paso Electric (EPE) has moved quickly to implement the provisions of SB 1910 (Rodriguez) which passed in the 82nd Legislature and was signed into law by the Governor. TREIA supported the bill. On July 11, the utility filed revisions to its Tariff Schedule No. 48 (39582_1_702326.PDF) for approval by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC).

TXU Energy, SolarCity Offer $5 Million in Solar Incentives
TXU Energy and SolarCity, a leading solar and energy efficiency provider, are expanding their partnership by establishing a $5 million incentive fund to encourage and accelerate solar energy adoption in Texas. The new solar fund will provide a $1,000 incentive for up to 5,000 new or current TXU Energy residential customers who sign up for the solar offer. More>

APS Solar Completes Big Texas Sun Solar Project At The Fort Worth Zoo

Alternative Power Solutions Corp., dba APS Solar was selected by Green Mountain Energy to install a 51.2 KW system for an administration building at the Fort Worth Zoo in Fort Worth, Texas. This system was designed to help reduce the energy consumption and harmful carbon dioxide emissions. The solar array is expected to produce more than 62,941 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity per year by converting sunlight into pollution-free electricity. It occupies over 2,816 square feet andconsists of 128 Lumeta PowerPly solar panels that are 400 watts each. The system will offset 196,548 pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions each year. More>
