Central Region Agriculture & Manufacturing Industry Forum attracts over 60 community college and industry leaders to Merced College's Business Resource Center  . . .

Feb24_2012AGforumMerced In 2011-2012, the Central Region Consortium has leveraged resources with regional EWD Centers and colleges to host a series of INDUSTRY FORUMS entitled, Listening to the Voice of Business & Responding.

In February, Merced College's Economic and Workforce Development leadership team brought together industry leaders from agriculture and manufacturing to talk to community college leaders about their workforce and training needs.

A business panel made up of leaders from Morning Star, Dole Packaged Foods, Foster Poultry Farms, Hilmar Cheese, and Joseph Farms talked about current partnerships with community colleges to describe what has worked well and how community colleges in the region can assist in meeting future industry training needs.

Pictured above are: Doug Kirkpatrick, Independent Consultant for Colleague Development with the Morning Star Company; Jeanette Benson, Director, Center for International Trade Development; and Becky Barabe, Director of the Business Resources Center, Merced College.
