Student Success Task Force Update

Student Success Task Force

Dear Colleagues,

The Student Success Task Force met to discuss the feedback members have received from stakeholders throughout the state and consider modifications to its draft report and recommendations.  The result was that the narrative in several sections will be rewritten to address concerns, and several recommendations will be revised to clarify their intent.  The most significant change made today by the Task Force was to take recommendation 8.1 - Consolidate Select Categorical Programs off the table.  Every member of the Task Force had heard concerns about categorical consolidation and the decision to drop the recommendation appeared to be unanimous, at least among the community college members.

There will be a more thorough Task Force update next week. (Week of November 14, 2011)

I am attaching a summary of the online comments received by the Task Force to date.  The comment site will remain open until the final recommendations are adopted.  This is an effective way for you to communicate your suggestions and concerns and I encourage you to use it:  http://studentsuccess.ideascale.com/
