Hello,
SB 1143, enacted in 2010, directed the Chancellor to establish a task force and develop recommendations on student success. Attached is the draft report developed by the Student Success Task Force over the past nine months. The Task Force comprised of very diverse stakeholders internal and external to our system who invested a tremendous amount of time to learn the issues and deliberate the options. Please forward onto all our Division's constituents and partners.
Over the next couple months, the draft report will be reviewed by numerous constituent groups and interested parties, including EdPAC and the CCCAOE Conference. The optimal process for those who wish to give feedback would be to submit suggested specific wording changes via www.cccco.edu/studentsuccess with accompanying rationale.
At a Chancellor's Office staff meeting on October 24 at 10:00 a.m., staff will receive a presentation on the draft report and have the opportunity to comment and ask questions.
The final report will be presented to the Board of Governors for adoption in January 2012.
Please take the time to review the report as it will have significant impacts on our students in the coming months and years.
Thank you,
Van
