On September 16, 2011, Central Region Consortium colleges were invited by Salvador Vargas, Dean of , and Dr. Kathy Hart, to tour the San Joaquin Delta College campus. Several faculty members participated to share the depth and breadth of each of their programs. The message was clear that industry partnerships linked to CTE programs are providing a WIN-WIN for students and employers. The ELECTRON MICROSCOPY PROGRAM at San Joaquin Delta College is a unique 2-year program that offers exceptional employment opportunities for both  men and women. Graduates of the program work in "cutting edge" areas of industry, medical schools, universities, technical sales and marketing. The need for experienced Microscopists continues to increase along with good starting salaries. A high school diploma is the only prerequisite for the program, but it is to the student's advantage to take high school courses in math, science, and computers.Because of the program's success in making rewarding high paying jobs available, it provides an excellent opportunity for both high school graduates and career change adults.
