Hello Regional Consortia Leaders, Regional College Leaders, and Chancellor's Office Staff: Your help in disseminating the following information would be very much appreciated! We have received several inquiries into CCC Confer/call in capabilities for the 9/23/11 CTE Employment Outcomes Project Stakeholders Meeting. We sincerely appreciate your eagerness to participate, even if travel precludes! The thought in convening this as a face-to-face meeting was that the length necessary to cover the content (this is a 9am-4pm meeting), and the content itself (detailed methodology work) were not conducive to a call format. That said, your enthusiasm prompted me to confer with the RP Group to explore the idea. Our joint conclusion, however, is that adding a CCC Confer component to the meeting risks not being very effective, and could actually detract from the objectives at hand. (None of us could think of an instance where this worked well - but we could readily report on attempts that worked poorly). In lieu of CCC Confer - we plan to forward to all of you, the Agenda for the meeting, decision points we will be focusing on, and support documents prepared to inform the discussion (all being prepared as you read this), so that you can provide input. Lastly, we will conduct a 3rd statewide call to share the meeting outcomes and discuss next steps accordingly. Thanks and l will be in touch soon with the information referenced above! Hi All,
A CTE Employment Outcomes Project Stakeholders Meeting will take place on September 23, 2011. Background information on this effort can be found below. The purpose of the meeting is to determine the survey method, content, and reporting format that would be of greatest value to individual colleges and our collective system. Recommendations from this group will be distilled into a statewide survey and reporting structure. At a minimum participants will include Project Leads (including the Chancellors Office), the RP Group and Pilot colleges/districts who are able to attend (the meeting is not required - rather, this is an invitation to those who would like to, to inform this effort). Details are as follows:

BACKGROUND The purpose of the CTE Employment Outcomes Project is to address the current lack of data demonstrating the impact of CTE programs. The effort seeks to take to scale Cabrillo and other college CTE completer/leaver surveys via a statewide pilot. The concept as currently conceived, is that interested colleges could pool resources to participate in a centralized survey, rather than try to invent one alone or college by college. 81 individuals have taken part during the project planning and development stage, representing roughly 37 colleges, 6 community college districts, 3 Economic and Workforce Development Initiatives, the RP Group and the Chancellors Office. 16 college/districts have stated a firm commitment to participate in the pilot survey projected for fall 2011. The intent of the pilot survey is to refine the methodology prior to statewide implementation, hopefully with many more colleges, in fall 2012.
