Mobilize.org to host a Millennial-driven Democracy 2.0 Summit series on
education and college completion

San Jose
April 11-15, 2011
With more than 3 million students enrolled each year, California community colleges comprise the largest system of higher education in the country. But each year, only three out of 10 California community college students achieve their educational goals of transferring to a four year university or receive their qualifications for a two-year degree.

Without the proper training and development, students, communities and the state will continue to realize the economic consequences of an unprepared workforce. As the state's largest source for workforce development and training, the current completion rate of California's community college students puts everyone's future at risk.

At each Summit, Mobilize.org will provide awards to the top projects that address community college completion rates. Through the use of keypad-voting technology, winners will solely be decided by Summit participants, and at each Summit a total of $25,000 will be distributed to projects that will be incubated by Mobilize.org for a period of 12 months.

The northern California community college Democracy 2.0 Summit is scheduled for
April 11-15, 2011 in San Jose.  APPLICATION DEADLINE is March 15, 2011 - Midnight (PST).
