Dear Central Region Consortium List Service Member:
Happy New Year to ALL!
Over the Winter Break, the NEW Website for the Central Region Consortium of community colleges was officially launched! The site represents the work of many stakeholders in our region who came together via CCCConfer teleconferencing to explore how we might utilize the newest and most efficient forms of electronic communication.
Our thanks go to our Communication Subcommittee members: Jessica Chapman, Terry Newman, Bonita Steele, Catherine Swenson, Barbara Fanning, and your CRC Co-Chairs and Project Director.
Barbara Fanning of Mindswing Consulting provided her expertise in Web site development and programming services. She offered exceptional services in overseeing the project's management, quality, and timely completion. She receives our highest recommendation!
Here are some of the new features you will find at http://www.crconsortium.com:
- BULLETIN BOARD- You can post announcements, events, new program applications, partnership and grant opportunities, job openings and more;
- EVENT Information and Registration (both regional and statewide);
- NEW CREDIT PROGRAM Endorsement Protocol, applications, & a list of endorsed programs for 2010-11;
- CONTACT INFORMATION for all regional colleges and more;
- A location to share CURRICULUM;
- A YouTube channel for the Central Region where you can post videos to showcase student and program success stories; (Send your videos to Sue Clark.)
- RESOURCE REPOSITORY with links to all past CRC Updates and other electronic messages sent from the CRC office via Constant Contact communication services (in process)
The goal of the new site is to provide our users (YOU) with the newest in electronic services to facilitate communication between all regional and statewide stakeholders. Your ongoing recommendations (and edits to content) for the site are encouraged. Please email Sue Clark with any changes.
Sue Clark, Project Director, Central Region Consortium |

TECH TOOLS WEBINAR
January 14, 2011
10-11:30 am via CCCConfer
Presenter: Rushton Hurley
They said this many powerful and free on-line resources couldn't be packed into a single workshop. They were wrong!
This session is designed to get teachers excited about possibilities that won't cost them or their schools a dime. The true benefit of free resources goes well beyond cost, however. Free, collaborative tools can create paperless classrooms, build staff interaction and morale, and better promote the strengths of the school.
PRIOR TO THE WEBINIAR: A number of the tools and resources to be shown require having a Gmail or Google account. For those who do not have one, you can sign up at gmail.com or google.com/accounts (choose the latter if you prefer not to have a Gmail address).
INSTRUCTIONS FOR JOINING THE WEBINAR AT 10AM ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 14
