CENTRAL REGION LIST SERVICE MEMBERS:
In its 2006 Strategic Action Proposal, California's 21st Century Opportunity, the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley identified MANUFACTURING as one of the central valley's critical industry sectors. The proposal further stated that the alignment of region-wide industry networks was needed in order to grow a diversified, globally-competitive economy supported by a hightly-skilled workforce.
On November 5, 2010, the Central Region Consortium will host a Manufacturing Industry Forum at State Center Community College's CLOVIS CENTER from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to engage in informal conversations with manufacturing industry leaders. The conversations will serve as a region-wide effort to align the needs of this industry sector with the services available from community colleges in the region and/or state.
Leaders from community college campuses and EWD Centers and Initiatives are asked to bring a manufacturing industry partner (or potential partner) to this forum. Invite (and bring) leaders who will be comfortable engaging in conversations about their workforce needs and challenges, the effect of today's economy on their industry, international trade issues, and more.
There is no cost to attend the Forum, and lunch will be provided by the Central Region Consortium. We ask that you select the link below to REGISTER the names of the people who will attend the Forum with you. Should you have questions, please contact David Clark, Dean, Reedley College, and Forum Planning Team Lead.
We hope to see you and your manufacturing industry partners at this conversational forum!
Your Central Region Planning Team,
David Clark, Karyn Dower, Gillian Murphy, George Boodrookas, Jim Andersen, Sue Clark |
