Home, Garden, and Business Expo

 

The Carbon County Chamber of Commerce and the Carbon Builders Association proudly present the 2011 Carbon County Home, Garden, and Business Exposition.  The Expo will be held on Saturday, April 30th, from 11 AM to 6 PM, and Sunday, May 1st, from 11 AM to 5 PM, at the Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall, East 10th Street,  in Jim Thorpe.  


Our goal is to introduce to the public and other businesses to all the various goods and services provided by the businesses and organizations in Carbon County and the surrounding area, and provide you a fun networking opportunity in the process.

 

Carbon County ExpoDisplay booths are available on a first come, first served basis.  The cost for a 8 x 10 booth is $250 for members and $500 for non-members on the main floor.  A limited number of display booths are available for 501-C3 non-profit organizations with less than 10 employees at a discounted rate.


We are also providing 8 x 10, and 16 x 20 booths on the lower floor.  The cost for those is less than the main floor and is noted on our registration application.  In addition, we will make available a 2000 square foot pavilion for use with outdoor/covered displays.  The pavilion cost will be determined by the area required by the user.


The Memorial Hall kitchen will have hot and cold foods available for purchase by exhibitors and patrons.

Be sure to bring plenty of business cards to the first 2011 Mixer event sponsored by the Carbon County Chamber at the Riverwalck Saloon in Parryville on Thursday, March 17 from 5 to 7 PM.

Jim Thorpe Rotary to Host Harlem Ambassadors Basketball on March 27 

  

The Jim Thorpe Rotary Club presents the Harlem Ambassadors on Sunday afternoon, March 27 at the Jim Thorpe High School gymnasium at 3 PM who will face off against the Jim Thorpe Thunder, a team composed of hometown heroes from the Jim Thorpe area.

The Ambassadors offer a unique brand of Harlem-style basketball, featuring high-flying slam dunks, dazzling ball-handling tricks and hilarious comedy routines.  They feature non-stop laughs and deliver a positive message for kids wherever they play.
 

They work extensively with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Boys & Girls Clubs, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the American Red Cross as well as Rotary, Lions, and Kiwanis clubs in communities throughout the U.S., and perform more than 200 shows a year. This is another fundraising activity for the Rotary Club of Jim Thorpe to support their many community and youth-oriented projects. 

 

Harlem Ambassadors

PenTeleData Computer Patrol is a special supporting partner.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students, and kids under 4 are free.  Available at the Pencor Super Store in Palmerton, Blue Ridge Communications offices in Lansford and Lehighton, the Dimmick Library, and all six branches of JTNB.

Penn Kidder/Carbon County Days at H2Ooohh Water Park February 13 and 14 

 

The Resort At Split Rock's H2Ooooh Water Park holds Penn Kidder/ Carbon County Days on February 13 and 14.

CCCC / ChamberChoice Meeting May 17

 

The Carbon County Chamber, in conjunction with ChamberChoice and Public Power offers a membership meeting on May 17 to discuss the subjects of Healthcare changes and new options availabel to utilites customers.

ChamberChoice will be on hand to fill us in on the healthcare landscape as we move into the future and also take questions from members as to what they offer.

 

Public Power will discuss ways to lower energy costs for residents and small businesses, opportunities for economy that did not exist until recently that will have a positive effect on the way we do business.
