The deadline for filing applications for developments within the Joplin MSA and Berkeley has been extended until Friday, October 21, 2011 at 4:30 PM CDT.
The Qualified Allocation Plan requires that all laborers and mechanics employed in the construction of developments be paid at least federal prevailing wage. On September 30, 2011, the Department of Labor released a new Wage Determination for Jasper and Newton counties resulting in significantly higher prevailing wage rates. All applications must take the new wage rates into consideration. MHDC recognizes the likelihood that most labor cost estimates were prepared in advance of the change. We are therefore extending the deadline for submission of applications so that applications can be amended to provide appropriate labor cost projections.
At the time of this notice, no applications have yet been received by MHDC. However, in the event an application has already been mailed, shipped or sent by courier to MHDC, please contact Tina Beer at (816) 759-6838 or tbeer@mhdc.com and indicate the method of shipment and the expected arrival date and time. MHDC staff members will retrieve the package and return it to the applicant unopened.
