Not All Charities are Equipped to Help and Some Might be Fraudulent, Warns BBB

 

As immediate relief needs are assessed in the wake of the devastating earthquake in Japan,  many Americans are looking for ways to help by donating to a charity. The Better Business Bureau warns that-as occurred following the Haiti Earthquake in January 2010 and Katrina in 2005-fraudulent charities will likely emerge to try and scam donations from well-meaning Americans. BBB Set for Another Secure Your ID Day 
CintasTruck Your local Better Business Bureau along with GreenPath Debt Solutions, Cintas Corporation and Fox2 are encouraging residents and small businesses to take an important step in helping prevent identity theft and protecting the environment by attending BBB's Secure Your ID Day Community Shred and Hard Drive Destruction event on Saturday April 30, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the BBB Office located at 26777 Central Park Blvd., Southfield, MI 48076. Over the past two years more than 19 million Americans became victims of ID theft resulting in the loss of $93 billion to criminal activity according to a 2011 report from Javelin Strategy and Research. Managing in 100 Day Increments 
Goal Setting As the CEO of a consulting firm that's paid by the outcome rather than by the hour, Geoff Vuleta says a "razor-sharp focus" among his staff is key to achieving his goal of $40 million in revenue. Toward that end, he developed a 100-day plan that sets up objective performance markers and ties bonuses to hitting those goals. Because the goals change every 100 days, "we're open to letting our employees take some risks -- after all, you can never be more than 100 days wrong".
