Secretary of the Navy to Visit Battleship NORTH CAROLINA

WILMINGTON, NC - Tuesday, October 12, 2010, the Battleship NORTH CAROLINA will be host to the Secretary of the Navy, Ray Mabus, in celebration of the 235th birthday of the U.S. Navy.
The program will commence at 11:00 am, and will include a Color Guard presentation of colors, Second Marine Division Band providing music, highlighted by MajGen Carl B. Jensen (Commanding General Marine Corps Installations East) and Congressman Mike McIntyre.  Captain Terry Bragg will emcee the visit.
SecNav Ray Mabus' speech is open to the public.  A meet and greet along with press interviews will be available immediately following.
"We are extremely excited about the opportunity to host the Secretary," said Capt. Terry Bragg, Executive Director of the Battleship. "This is a noteworthy event for the Battleship NORTH CAROLINA, Wilmington and a great start for the USS GRAVELY commissioning festivities."
