Dear Friends of JBF,
 
Well summer is quickly coming to an end and that only means one thing - the Just Between Friends Western Mainline and Reading sales are almost upon us!  Are you ready?  It's like the first day of school for adults...a few last minute questions and a lot of excitement for what what is in store!
 
We have an important reminder for those of you have "graduated" from JBF 101 (our repeat consignors) - you must "update" your information in our system in order to participate in the upcoming sales.  Your # will not change but we need to know that you are joining us - just think of is as an RSVP to JBF.  It will take you just a second and save us lots of time at drop off.  For the Western Mainline Sale, click here to update and for the Reading sale, please click here.
 
If you are a First Time Parent or Grandparent, we will mail you a Pre-Sale pass one week prior to the sale.  There is no cost to attend the pre-sale, however you must be registered to attend.  Because of time and space constraints, we limit pre-sales to adults only.  The only exception is for nursing infants who can be carried in a sling or baby carrier - no strollers, please!  Tell your expectant mommy friends about the pre-sale.  We would love to have them join us as well!  New parents can register for the Western Mainline Sale by clicking here and for Reading, by clicking here.
 
Finally, we still a key element to make our events run smoothly - YOU!  Volunteer spaces are available for both locations.  You do not have to consign to volunteer with us.  Our volunteers shop first for both the regular pre-sale as well as 50% off pre-sale + you earn an additional 5% on all consigned items.  See below for complete details and sign up information.

Inspection 101
 
We take a lot of pride in the fact that JBF is the leader in children's and maternity consignment.  When
 you drop off, your clothing and shoe items are carefully inspected. Our inspectors are volunteers so if they "reject" one of your items, they are just doing their part.  Here are few tips to get your items to pass with flying colors:  
 
No Stains!  Stained items can be taken home and washed and retuned if desired.  
 
Items must be free of odor - nothing smokey! 
 
Children's clothing must be appropriate for Fall/Winter.  Think cold weather.
 
Hems must be in tact.  Make sure zippers "zip", snaps "snap" and no missing buttons.
 
Check the recall lists!  We will NOT accept ANY side rail cribs for the Fall events.
 
Maternity is accepted for all seasons but must be current fashions.  Out of style fashions are not accepted.
 
Battery operated toys need batteries!!
 
All tags must be printed on WHITE card stock.
 
Hangers should point to the left (make a ? with the hanger).
 
Tags secured with safety pin or tagging gun.
 
 
 Once your items are inspected, you are responsible for placing on the racks.  Please allow ample time to merchandise your items!

Our sales could not happen without the support of our volunteers.  We make a great team and we need your help to assist our shoppers as greeters, cashiers, organizers and breakdown.  Many of our helpers comment on how much fun it is to volunteer with us.  Beyond some time out with other moms and dads, here are the benefits:
 
9 hour volunteers -
shop at 4:00
 
6 hour volunteers -
shop at 4:30
 
3 hour volunteers -
shop at 5:00
 
Consignors - 5:30
 
New Parents/Grandparents - 6:00
 
All volunteers earn an additional 5% on their consigned items.

Volunteers are invited to shop 1st at our 50% off Pre-Sale on Friday night @ 6:30!

Shopping 101
 We all know how to shop right?  Sure, but do you know how to SHOP Smart?
 
Our Western Mainline Sale outgrew (in just 2 sales) our old space!  So, smart shoppers you need to first go to the correct hall!  We are now located on the other side of the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in HALL C.
 
Here are some other tips from savvy moms and dads so you can make the most of your shopping experience:
 
Assess your needs - check what you already have and what you really need.  Even a great deal is a waste if you don't need it!
 
Dress for Success - wear comfortable shoes and clothing.  Tuck your money in your pocket so you don't have to lug around purse.
 
Come Prepared - know your children's clothing and shoe sizes.  We do not allow for returns so you want to be sure to have this information available.
 
Think Holiday Gift Giving - many of our items are brand new with tags.  Santa can come early and save you a bundle with JBF.
 
Shop Early and Shop Often - the early shopper catches the bargains.  There is so much to see at our sales that sometimes you just can't take it all in.  We are open to the public 3 1/2 days so come back and see us often.
 
Remember the 50% Sales - we have a full day and a half where many our items will be an additional 50% off!
