Greetings dearest community!

We are growing by leaps and bounds in 2011 - so exciting!  Our Vision Quest doubled this year and we already have several commitments for Questers in 2012.

Now we have 2 big events in the next few weeks: a Memorial Weekend Yard Sale Fundraiser and our new ceremony, our baby SPIRIT DANCE on June 3, 4 & 5th - open to men, women & children.  

Please join us and lend your voice, your drum, your wisdom, your dance and your blessings to those who follow in our footsteps...  

SPIRIT DANCE

Go to our site to get the details and register for this way affordable family event.  This ceremony is much smaller & more easy going than Long Dance. We do need volunteers to load up the small truck Friday am,  set up a teepee & a dome for the kids, prepare the circle, set up latrines, assist in children's activities, help in the kitchen and unload the truck Sunday.  These will be easily done when we join together and we've got an awesome Wrangler all ready to sort out the many hands that will make the work light for this fun & special gathering.  Commit to a few tasks and we'll all have a blast, leading the way for the next seven generations.  AHO! 

MEMORIAL WEEKEND YARD SALE FUNDRAISER  on SATURDAY, MAY 28, 8am-5pm   

at Hawk Woman's home near Avila Beach. Please plan to drop in and find some treasures and perhaps go on to the beach later for a beautiful day.  

If you have items to contribute, there are two drop off points: Magic Hands' home in Shell Beach (805-550-6163) and White Heart's Cambria location for North County (805-203-5183).   

IF YOU HAVE A SERVICE, PRODUCT OR CRAFT to sell, we welcome our community members to set up a table at the YARD SALE and pledge a percentage of your sales to Circles. There is some nice space under the sycamores and easy access to bring in your wares. Please contact Hawk Woman to arrange for a space or volunteer your time (805) 801-2911.

We seek a few volunteers for this event to transport some items from Hua's, to monitor the parking area and to assist in pricing and sales. Address: 1525 See Canyon Road, SLO, 93405. (From San Luis Bay Drive take See Canyon north, first driveway on the right.)

WE HAVE SEVERAL JOBS THAT NEED TO BE FILLED 

some are volunteer only and several are offering some compensation.  We want to keep our funds in the community while we continue to grow our Circles of Empowerment! 

LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE - mow, trim and maintain church grounds, general labor, to include miscellaneous clean-up projects around the site, approx. 5 hours per week. COMPENSATION NEGOTIABLE

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - general office duties, approx. 5 hours per week depending upon experience. COMPENSATION NEGOTIABLE

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER - develop and maintain our social media sites. FUTURE COMPENSATION

DATABASE DEVELOPMENT AND/OR MAINTENANCE - develop user-friendly database (currently using Access) for contacts and registration information, we are looking to interface with and development of online registration capabilities. COMPENSATION NEGOTIABLE

VOLUNTEER ORGANIZER - help build our volunteer base and coordinate the volunteer effort. FUTURE COMPENSATION

VOLUNTEER BASE - sign up for our email list of volunteers that can be called upon for various needs as they arise. We will issue  a "CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS" to this list describing our current needs (i.e. labeling and stamping a mailing, assisting an elder, supporting a yard sale, general labor, etc) with who to contact in the event you are available to help.
