North Central Region Volunteer Forum

North Central Region Volunteer Forum to be held October 11 to 14 in Wichita, Kansas.

Speakers 

Michelle Cummings Michelle Cummings - Well-known speaker, author and leader in the team- development industry, and founder of Training Wheels - will deliver the keynote address, Leadership and the Trust Factor.

 

Barbara Stone  

Barbara Stone - Kansas 4-H director - will share the Promise and Power of Positive Youth Development and excite volunteers about implementing positive youth-development practices. Lisa Lauxman

 

 

Lisa Lauxman - USDA's director of the Division of Youth and 4-H - will remind listeners that There Is No Place Like 4-H as she tells stories of 4-H successes.

Tours 

In addition to many local Wichita attractions (such as elite shopping areas, Sedgwick County Zoo, The Exploration Place, museums and art galleries) that forum participants can visit on their own, there will be 3 guided tours forum attendees can take:

  1. Space Over and Under - This tour will take participants to the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center and the Kansas Underground Salt Museum.
  2. Western Heritage - Those going on this tour will visit the 44-foot statue, the Keeper of the Plains, the Mid-America All-Indian Center, the Old Cowtown Museum and Old Town.
  3. For the Guys - Tour New Holland and the Kansas Aviation Museum.
