Registration deadline extended for 4-H Mentoring Weekend!
|

Have you reminded your matches to turn in their registration for 4-H Mentoring Weekend 4? The deadline for registration has been extended to Friday, July 8th. It is fast approaching, so be sure to tell them about this awesome opportunity!
In its fourth year, 4-H Mentoring Weekend offers mentoring matches from around the state an incredible opportunity to strengthen their relationship and create lasting memories together. With 190 participants over the past three years, 4-H Mentoring Weekend is sure to be the highlight of the summer for your matches!
"The best thing was hanging out with Juan and getting to be ourselves," Mike (pictured at left), a mentor with the Clinton County 4-H Youth Mentoring Creating Connections Program said. "It was also the first time Juan and I had worked together as a team-it was cool to do that together. When I signed up for the weekend I was a little hesitant at first, but it was one of my most memorable experiences this summer."
For a registration fee of $40 per person, youth and their mentors will have three days, two nights lodging at the wonderful Kettunen Center, all meals included, access to their choice of workshops, and a free 4-H Mentoring Weekend tee shirt!
"The Jell-O war was my favorite," Juan, Mike's mentee, said. "We filled four buckets and when the whistle blew we had to throw Jell-O at one another. The one who was most covered in Jell-O got a prize! I also enjoyed meeting new people. I've talked to new friends and plan to go again next year."
This year's event is jam-packed with fun and educational workshops! Matches won't want to miss Jell-O Wars, Archery, or Capture the Flag! Matches can try out their journalistic side with the brand-new 4-H Mentoring Weekend Press Corps and interview matches, video tape activities and record all that the weekend has to offer. While at 4-H Mentoring Weekend, mentors will be given the chance to develop skills and network during two workshops dedicated solely to mentor training and support. Youth will get the chance to meet other mentees from around the state and explore positive recreational activities.
