Job Openings:  Wayne County 4-H Youth Mentoring Program
Wayne County MSU Extension is seeking applicants for two full-time positions with the Wayne County 4-H Mentoring Program. 
  
Program Associate, 4-H Mentoring Program 
In concert with the 4-H Extension Educator, coordinates, plans, organizes and implements the Wayne County 4-H Mentoring Program for Michigan State University Extension.  This position also assists with program reporting and evaluation requirements. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Program recruitment, training, and promotion
  • Identification of continued program funding, marketing and fundraising activities
  • Prepare and maintain accurate, required program records and reports
  • Acquire, maintain and expand appropriate skill level in youth development
  • Understand and implement diversity and affirmative action principles and compliance standards
 
Minimum Requirements
HS diploma or GED; one year experience in youth development or mentoring; intermediate computer operation skills; valid driver's license and automobile insurance; flexible schedule (includes some evenings and weekends)
 
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in social work or related field; working knowledge of case management, mentoring programs, and the Wayne County JAC and JAIS system.
 
Fair Labor Standards Act Designation:
This position is non-exempt as defined under the FLSA.

Extension Educator, 4-H Youth Development-Mentoring 
This position is responsible for coordinating the partnership between The Michigan State University Extension 4-H Mentoring Program and the Wayne County Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC) and will provide youth development and mentoring programs for at-risk youth in Wayne County. This position is part of the MSUE Children and Youth Institute and will work jointly with the other 4-H Mentoring Extension Educators, 4-H Mentoring Program Associates, Wayne County Department of Children and Family Services staff and other Extension staff in the county, district, and state to implement youth mentoring programs and build assets in youth and families across the life cycle.
