Thursday, March 18, 2010The next General Membership Meeting will be held on March 18, 2010 at Kensington Golf & Country Club, 2700 Pine Ridge Road. Attendees will hear Marvin D. Sappala, M.D., chief medical officer of Hazelden speak about "Facing the Menace of Prescription Drug Abuse." This dinner meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. RSVP by March 15.

Ecuador Project Hope Needs Ultrasound
|
The Medical Society supports the efforts of Ecuador Project Hope and the volunteer medical services they provide to the poor and indigenous people of the country. In early April, a team of healthcare providers including Dr. Fabian Vaca will return to the South American country to perform necessary medical services. Dr. Vaca and his team are in dire need of a portable ultrasound with two probes for abdominal exams and to check the ears, nose and throat of patients. March 20, 2010 The annual Women's Health Forum hosted by CCMS will take place at Hodges University off Immokalee Road on Saturday, March 20, 2010. We are pleased to announce that we have over 25 women physician members who will be speaking on a wide variety of topics. New Committee Members to PAC

The CCMS PAC committee is pleased to announce that Dr. Rolando Rivera and Dr. Max Kamerman have agreed to serve on the committee. They will join the current committee of Dr. Gauta, treasurer, and Dr. Mitch Zeitler. Thank you to Dr. Mickey Gordon and Dr. Thomas Becket for serving on the committee in 2009. The PAC has raised $8,700 this year. The committee will make decisions at their meeting this month on supporting physician friendly State candidates. Thank you to all those who contributed to the PAC this year.
