Not All Drugs Are the Same After All
By LESLEY ALDERMAN
Published: December 18, 2009
Let me start by saying I'm a fan of generic drugs. They save Americans billions of dollars each year and give us access to wonderful drugs at affordable prices. I've recommended generics in this column many times and use them myself when possible.
But there is a gnawing concern among some doctors and researchers that certain prescription generic drugs may not work as well as their brand-name counterparts. The problem is not pervasive, but it's something consumers should be aware of - especially now that more insurers insist that patients take generic medications when they are available.

Do you have a Seizure Action Plan?
One of the
key tools available to people with epilepsy or parents of children with
epilepsy is a Seizure Action Plan, or commonly referred to as a SAP. The
Seizure Action Plan can provide information and direction for others in a time
when seizures occur. Seizure Action Plans can be reviewed with your employer,
your family members, or a child's school nurse and kept on file to refer to
when a seizure occurs. We would like to know.... Do you have or use a Seizure Action Plan? If so, let us know. If not, let us know and we'll email one to you. Do so by emailing ptorres@epilepsynw.org with your answer or request for a form.
