$1 Million Gift
Quincy University is proud to announce that alumni Rich '53 and Connie '54 Niemann, in conjunction with the Niemann Foods Foundation, have graciously contributed to Quincy University with the largest single gift by a living donor in our 152-year history:  one million dollars.  This extraordinary gift will be invested in the university's North Campus with special attention to the chapel areas.  The chapels will be renovated and transformed into a new music performance venue and reception area.  As Connie has performed and taught music for many years, the venue is set to be named the "Connie Niemann Center for Music" in her honor.  Rich and Connie celebrate 61 years of marriage in 2012.  For more on the Connie Niemann Center for Music or the Niemann family, visit the QU site. On April 14, the St. Louis Cardinals take on the rival Chicago Cubs at Busch Stadium.  This is the Cardinals' first Saturday home game of 2012 and will sell out quickly.  The World Series ring presentation will take place prior to the game AND all in attendance receive a wearable replica ring to keep.  Quincy University has secured a block of tickets for our alumni which can be purchased on the QU site for $50 a piece (normally $61).

On March 3, over 70 Chicago area Quincy University alumni came together at a Mulliganeers St. Patrick's Day fundraiser in Countryside, Illinois.  A portion of the proceeds raised will go to the Brian '75 and Pat Spellacy Egan '76 family.  Brian was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and their oldest daughter Bridget is recovering from a rare nasal cancer.  Just another example of QU alumni displaying the Franciscan spirit in their own lives.
