Quincy University is proud to announce the hiring of Tom Pajic as the new head coach of the Hawk football team.  Pajic spent the previous eight years as the offensive coordinator at Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania.  Pajic is the sixth head coach since QU football was revived in 1986.

As offensive coordinator at Bloomsburg, Pajic's teams have consistently ranked among the top offenses in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and finished in the top 10 of NCAA Division II in rushing yards per game six times including leading the nation in rushing in 2005.  In 2011, Bloomsburg averaged 34.3 points, 258.9 rushing yards, and 408.3 total yards per game.

Under Pajic, Quincy University will make the move from NAIA to NCAA Division II next season as part of the newly formed Great Lakes Valley football conference.  Pajic earned a bachelor's degree from Bloomsburg in 1991.  He is married to his wife Julie and has a daughter, Grace, and a son, Tommy Jr.

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Day, Quincy University students and staff are embarking on a 5-day Civil Rights trip to Alabama.  Students will see the historic sites as well as meet with residents who played active roles in the Civil Rights movement.  On Monday, students partake in the first ever MLK Day of Service by volunteering at non-profits across the Quincy community.  On Tuesday, students, staff, and alumni are welcome to attend a special 12:15 mass in the QU chapel.

The World Champion St. Louis Cardinals take on rivals the Chicago Cubs on April 14th in St. Louis and Quincy University has secured a block of tickets for our alumni.  This is the first weekend home game for the Cardinals in 2012 and like any Cardinals/Cubs matchup, it will most definitely sell out.  We will have details in our February E-Newsletter, but until then, SAVE THE DATE!
