Hello Canine Angels Fans,

We hope you're having a spectacular summer. We have several fun projects in the works, and I'd like to introduce one of them to you.

Our advanced training site expanded with a new kennel building last fall, and now there's a way you can help ensure it's accessibility, contribute to its beauty, and leave a lasting mark of your support for CAST.

Canine Angels is selling engraved bricks that will be incorporated into the walkways surrounding the advanced training facility. This is a wonderful way to celebrate a graduate team, honor a puppy you've raised or been touched by, remember a beloved pet, or advertise your business and its support of CAST, all while helping raise funds to continue our mission. Bricks come in two sizes (4" x 8" and 8" x 8") and our online ordering system is very easy and fast. We can also e-mail order forms for anyone preferring to pay by check.

Thank you so very much for your continued support,

Kelly Stack
Executive Director

Order bricks on-line at cast.engravedbricks.com or contact Kelly for order forms at [email protected].

Four members of the CAST family, with four Canine Angels dogs, attended Alex's memorial service. Our graduation ceremony was dedicated to the memory of Alex. We didn't know him long, but he touched us all.
Special Team Training Story

While preparing to write this issue of the newsletter, I heard the same special story from at least 3 different people. There was one little boy at Team Training who impressed everyone. One of our staff members said that it was the highlight of her week watching Jacob become more independent and find his confidence. And he wasn't even one of our new graduates.

Jacob had attended Team Training and been placed with a dog in 2009. He had a choice of where he wanted to go for vacation this summer and he chose to return to Team Training for more training and practice.

A board member who observed Team Training wrote, "There were lots of moments that amazed me but the one I will always remember is when I saw Sandy help Jacob work through his frustration and guide his dog through an obstacle course with his little voice getting stronger by the minute as he made progress and then his tears turning into a smile with such a sense of accomplishment when he was successful."

His mother sent us the following note: "Thank you for making my little man sooo incredibly happy! He has been on the phone for 40 minutes telling his brothers all about the fun he is having!"

The Dance Litter

June was a very busy month at Canine Angels. In addition to Team Training and Graduation, we welcomed a new litter of puppies! Our Golden Retriever breeder Bella whelped 6 girls and 4 boys on June 9th. A big handsome CCI yellow Lab named Camden is the proud papa.

Check back next month when we hope to introduce each puppy by name and announce their puppy raisers. Until then, enjoy the photos in the left column and in Bella's Blog at bellas3rdlitter.blogspot.com.
