Ragsdale Construction Delay Temporary

GCS assured parents and community members that the district will complete the entire $24.9 million scope of work approved by voters in 2008 for Ragsdale High. District officials said they are working with the architect, principal, building advisory team and others to adjust the design and bring the project back in line with the voter-approved budget. Read more.
State Board of Education Approves Use of QSCB Funds
Maintenance projects at 24 schools will take place in the coming school years thanks to $16.8 million in Qualified School Construction Bonds (QSCB). The State Board of Education approved the district's allocation of the federal stimulus bond funding.
 
The funds will allow GCS to complete 28 maintenance projects. Funding includes $3 million for window and door replacements, $3 million for roof repairs/replacements and $10.8 million for HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) system improvements. Read more.

The contractor continues fine grading and landscaping activities, as well as miscellaneous interior finish installations.
 
Jamestown Middle
The contractor received a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy on June 10 and continues correcting punch list items. Furniture deliveries are scheduled to begin July 1. School staff will begin moving into the new building in late July.
