Little League Update

TO:  BPALL players & friends

 

This Sunday, March 11 is a big day for BPALL!  

All parents, coaches and managers are welcome (encouraged!) to attend any or all of these events.   Reminder:  the clocks spring forward an hour on Sunday at 2am - it's Day Light Savings this weekend!

There will be food!

WORK DAY begins at 8:30 am on Sunday.  All fields at the Field of Dreams will be readied for play.  It is very important that we have a good turnout of adult volunteers.   Concession stand (Toscani) at 8:30am. 

 

SAFETY TRAINING at 1pm.  This will address the things that managers and coaches should know to ensure player safety.  Attendance is very important.  Haas Field at 1pm.   

 

FIELD MAINTENANCE & PREP TRAINING at 1:30 pm.  We will show people how to get a field ready for play (may seem unnecessary to some, but a well presented field makes it a better experience for the kids).  Haas Field at 1:30pm.   

 

COACHES' CLINIC from 2-4pm.  Former professional player, Alex Melconian, will focus on teaching us how to teach the game to players.  Important elements of baseball and softball, will be reviewed.  Even experienced coaches can learn something, so you are strongly encouraged to attend.  Haas Field at 2pm.

 

We have a BPALL meeting on March 13 at 7:30pm in the TEMS teachers' lounge.  Following that meeting, we will have a Gala Planning Session (est. 8:30pm) at Casey's in Berwyn.  Anyone who wants to be involved in the gala is welcome to attend. 

 

BPALL is a volunteer organization.  We welcome parent involvement.

On Saturday, March 10, 2012, Dick's Sporting Goods (Plymouth Meeting location) will hold a special family day for all BPALL players, coaches and their families.   

 

BPALL participants will receive 15% off their entire purchase!  This is in addition to the sport coupons that will be distributed during our event time!  There will be a Little League check-in table from which you will receive two sets of coupons on March 10, 2012.

BPALL is starting to plan its Annual Silent Auction & Gala being held May 19, 2012.
 
A meeting will be held following the BPALL Meeting on Tuesday, March 13.

If you are able to help please contact  Mike Nichols or

 BPALL will distribute equipment to Team Managers between 8:15-8:45am on Sunday, March 11, 2012. 
   
Please be patient.  
Challenger, TeeBall, Coach Pitch, Minors, Majors, and all of softball coming, so it will be a lot of traffic.

No early birds. 
We will need time to set up.  Please don't arrive before 8:15am.    

Managers who know they cannot attend should delegate this duty to another parent.
