Berwyn Paoli Area
Little League Update
December 2, 2011

Greetings!

The community is invited to an Open Meeting of Berwyn Paoli Area Little League on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at 7pm in the Cafeteria at T/E Middle School.  Enter the Middle School at the back entrance (Old Lancaster Road).   All meetings are open to the public, but this one in particular is intended to give people the opportunity to ask anything they might like.  They may even get answers...

BPALL is profoundly grateful to Ryan Johnson for donating his Eagle Scout Project to Field of Dreams.  Ryan organized and mobilized a team of 40 volunteers from Troop Devon 50 to completely rebuild the bridge/path between Cappelletti and Haas fields.  Details below.

BPALL is 100% volunteer-run.  We are always looking for people to help.

Eagle Scout Project yields Field of Dreams Walkway a new walkway!

Over two weekends in November Ryan Johnson, a junior at Conestoga High School, planned and built a new, handicapped-accessible, flagstone walkway connecting baseball fields 2 and 3 at BPALL's Field of Dreams.

With the help of over 40 fellow scouts, parents from Troop Devon 50, BPALL volunteers, Tom Toscani and Art DeSolis, Ryan was able to build the 120 foot walkway consisting of over 20 tons of gravel foundation, 165 flagstone slabs, and lined with 64 railroad ties.

Ryan After photoArt DeSolis donated his backhoe; a gas powered tamper and the time of his team to dig the foundation of the path.  Art also supplied 20 tons of gravel which served as the foundation. Lowes offered a 50% discount off all products purchased to help sponsor the cost of the project.  Through 241 total man hours of service the scouts and parents of Devon 50 were able to accomplish their goal of constructing the new flagstone walkway.
