Hot Topic: Execution as a Function of Success

How does the way you view success impact the way you view the world, the actions you take, and the people you surround yourself with?  Or is success a random lighting strike?

Plant corn, grow corn.  Don't plant corn, grow weeds.  You have to intentionally plant to grow something.  Cause and effect!  So how do you intentionally grow success?  It's not about having a great idea, it's not about being in the right place at the right time, and it's not about having the right resources.  It's about doing, or more accurately, it is about executing.  Most people research, dream up great ideas, even write business plans and make goals, but why are they not successful?

Most people allow fear to get in the way of success.  Fear of failure.  Fear of being laughed at.  Fear of being responsible.

Executing is a single step towards success.  If you can just do one thing towards executing your idea, then you are way ahead of the competition.  The right and wrong way to execute is the topic for a later article, but even if you execute the wrong way and fail, you will have learned more than if you had not executed at all.  Stop doubting, start executing and start achieving today!

Minute with Jane: What's in a Name?

Some of you have known me and our team before we were Xcution.  So what is Xcution, and where did it come from?  Xcution is a play on the work execution.  Execution is at the heart of how we drive success for our customers.  We help corporations, teams, and individuals get past the fear of doing something different by helping them remove barriers, and execute with vision, passion, and purpose.

How we do that is a different conversation, but I'd be happy to visit with you about it, so give us a call.

When I first started consulting, I did not have a name for what I was doing, but I could see the results my clients were achieving.  I knew the art of executing was at the heart of what makes or breaks many projects.  From there, we have grown and defined what we do into a methodology that can be applied and repeated.  So when you hear the name Xcution, I hope it inspires you to challenge yourself and to take your efforts to the next level.

Sincerely,

Jane Henry
