Couple's Weight Loss Challenge
January16th!
Join my 6-week Couple's Weight Loss Challenge where teams of 2 compete to lose the highest percentage of body weight. Everyone pitches in $45 to participate and at the end of the weigh-in the individuals who have lost the most percentage of body weight win the pot (minus a registration fee per person). 1st, 2nd and 3rd place cash prizes awarded.

Included with the cash prizes, I also have hundreds of dollars worth of product and gift certificates from very generous local businesses to give away during the final weigh in.

Lose the Gut Boot Camp
Commencing January 10th
Get a trainer for half the cost with this twice a week, small group training program. In addition to working out 2 times a week with a trainer, you will also receive my weekly fit tip and my recipe of the week. Program commences Jan. 10 and runs every Mon & Wed at 6:30am-7:15am.

TRX Challenge Begins...

Throughout the month of January all of my clients  will have a chance to compete against each other to see who can win the title of "TRX Champion". Each client will perform as many reps, in one minute, of the pull-up and the suspended crunch - two exercises designed to test their upper body strength and their core strength.

The TRX is one of the most versatile and effective pieces of fitness equipment on the market today. If you haven't tried it, check out this video made by a trainer in the States. He gives a really good mix of exercises in the video, without a lot of chatter. View here...

Our current champs, Laura Assalone and Jack Shannon, will have work hard to maintain their crown this time around!

Recipe of the Month
Low Calorie, Take for Lunch Meal

Quinoa & White Bean Chili
1/2 c uncooked, rinsed quinoa
1 large red bell pepper, chopped (about 2 cups)
1 large green bell pepper, chopped (about 2 cups)
t tsp ground chipotle pepper
(2) 15-oz white beans (buy Eden's brand beans. They are low-sodium and the cans are BPA-free)
4 large tomatoes, chopped with juices (about 4 cups)
1 tsp dried oregano
2 tsp cumin
6 oz spinach, chopped (about 4 cups)

Directions:
In a 4-qt pot, combine quinoa and 4 cups of water and place over high heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce to heat to low. Cover tightly and simmer for 15 min.

Add bell peppers, chipotle, beans, tomatoes, cumin and oregano to quinoa and cook, uncovered, for about 10 min. When chili is appealingly thick and quinoa is throwing off its tiny white haloes, stir in spinach and cook for 1 more min, until just wilted. Serve hot.

Per 2 cup serving:
300 calories
3.5 g fat
54 g carbs
15 g protein
148mg sodium
