Kalorie Killer! Small Group Training Program
A Small Group, 6-week training program for the individual looking to lose weight & tone.
Kalorie Killer is a calorie blasting circuit workout where you will hit every muscle group as you rotate through different stations using a variety of fitness equipment and your own bodyweight. It's the perfect combination of heart pumping cardio and pure strength training to challenge any fitness level. Lead by PJ Wren.
Dates: 9:15am every Tues commencing April 13 for 6 weeks OR
9:15am every Thurs commencing April 15 for 6 weeks
Each class is 60 minutes
Cost: $120 /pp for 6 weeks (sorry no make up classes available)
Where: PJ's newly renovated and larger studio in her home

Weight Loss Challenge
Are you ready to lose some weight? Are you ready to be paid if you lose the most? In my most aggressive weight loss challenge to date, I am opening up a competition to see who can lose the highest percentage of weight loss in a 6 week period. This competition is open to anyone, not just current one-on-one clients working with me.
Registration is $30, and depending on the number of participants who play, the winnings could grow to $800 for 1st place, $500 for 2nd and $400 for 3rd place biggest loser. (All monies will be pooled together. The total winnings will depend on the # of participants that enter, minus the costs of running the program.)
The competition begins April 26, Monday, with weigh ins on April 25, Sunday. The last day of competition and the final weigh in is May 30, Sunday.
This contest is only open to 75 people. Space is very limited, which means your odds of winning some cash are greater! In addition to your registration you will also receive tips on how to lose weight and exercise properly to get the most bang for your weight loss strategy.

Book of the Month
"In Defense of Food - An Eater's Manifesto"
Without a doubt, one of my favourite books read this year is Michael Pollan's "In Defense of Food - An Eater's Manifesto".
The back of his book states, "Because in the so-called Western diet, food has been replaced by nutrients, and common sense by confusion - most of what we're consuming today is no longer a product of nature but of food science. The more we worry about nutrition, the more unhealthy we become.'
It is a really good read and I highly recommend any books written by Pollan. | Exercise of the Month Hip Bridge
One of the easiest and best exercises for low back health is the hip bridge. Unfortunately with all the sitting that we do throughout the day our extensors, like the hamstrings, glutes and erector spinae group in the spine, become weak and cause havoc in the form of low back pain, hip pain, weakness of the core and even at times neck pain!
To perform the hip bridge lie on your back with your feet close to your bum and hip width apart. Lift you hips as high as you can, squeezing the glutes, and hold for 30-60 seconds. To increase the intensity you can extend the right leg straight up and hold the bridge with your left leg for the allotted time and then switch legs.
