75th Anniversary Show Package "Celebrate Harmony"

Thanks to the 75th Anniversary Committee for coming up with a great new show package, "Celebrate Harmony," designed to entertain and educate the public with our rich heritage and the music we share. There's a good sprinkling of history throughout the show, with the main focus on the entertainment value of the barbershop style, and it has a perfect balance of song styles and tempos.

It's a terrific way to share our birthday with the world! Read more about the show script, songs and how to order HERE.

If you have any questions, or need help and support, please email our Society Historian extraordinaire, Grady Kerr.

 Music Premiere Series 2012B

Season's Greetings, Harmony Lovers!!

This year we are proud to announce a holiday Premiere Series! The 2012-B issue includes six pieces of sheet music and a mixed track CD demonstrating for each song. As with previous years, four-part learning tracks are available on each song voiced once again by Vocal Spectrum's Tim Waurick. We hope you'll enjoy this fresh mix of holiday classics, all singable by the majority of barbershoppers.

Do You Hear What I Hear?   206243

A Joe Liles arrangement of a haunting melody, this song carries the story from the night wind, to the shepherd boy, to the mighty king, "to the people everywhere."

Little Saint Nick      206245

Harmonizing to a Beach Boys classic, this piece is sure to be a crowd favorite. This setting by Jon Nicholas is a great change of pace from traditional holiday music.

Mary Had a Baby        # 206241

This melody arranged by David Wright has a simple, elegant beauty -sure to awe the audience.

Toyland        206242

From the operetta Babes in Toyland comes this classic Ed Waesche arrangement about the innocence and wonder of childhood and the sadness of its fleeting nature.

The Virgin Mary Had a Baby Boy    206240

A Christmas carol from Trinidad arranged by Tom Gentry, this piece is a great change of pace and a fun novelty number.

We Need a Little Christmas    # 206244

A great show opener perfect for the holidays, this song arranged by Dave Briner has a lively tempo from start to finish.

Entire Premiere Series 2012B Packet only $14.95 - # 206253

Listen to a clip of each song!

 Do You Have Burning
Questions About Contest and Judging?

Put Out the Fire With Our New C&J Blog Series

Despite our current judging system having been in place for almost 20 years, many of you still have questions about aspects of the judging system. Rumors and myths still abound. If you know a judge or feel bold, you may have contacted a judge in the past but many of you might never ask your question.

In an effort to help further educate, C&J (Contest and Judging) is hosting an interactive series on the Society's BLOG. The process will be simple. Just email a question to C&J Chairman Kevin Keller and the selected questions will be placed on the blog, followed by an answer from a judge. After that, anyone is free to comment on the post with further questions or insights. Other judges will also join in the conversation. Hopefully all of us will learn something by discussing the issues.

We'll run it at least through the end of the year. If it remains popular, we'll continue beyond that. Hope to see you contribute!
