Autumn is really a beautiful time of year in Southern California- we love it. Isn't it crazy when you run into people complaining about the weather, or the shorter days...or beer prices? Go to Norway- where it's literally freezing, the days are 3 hours shorter, and a pint of beer costs over $10 USD. We've got a lot to be thankful for here at Silky's: temperate weather, long afternoons, $2 Bud Light/$3 Fat Tire pints on Sunday evenings... and most of all, great customers, like you! Turkey Day Eve- Wed. Nov. 24th
Several years ago, a small group of Fountain Valley High School alumni decided that the night before Thanksgiving was a perfect evening for an informal reunion. Everyone would be home to visit family, no one had to work the next day, and Silky Sullivan's was right around the corner...so the first annual Turkey Day Eve was born!  Each year the event has grown, and Silky's has become the #1 place to be on the night before Thanksgiving. After one of the most exciting NBA Finals in history, the Lakers are back and ready to defend their championship this season. They are off to a great start, despite the fact that Kobe is still recovering from his knee surgery. Hopefully they will keep the streak alive.
Later this month on Fri. Nov. 26th, the Lakers will meet one of their classic rivals: the Utah Jazz. The Lakers struggled against the Jazz in the pre-season, losing back-to-back games; so, the LA clan will be looking for redemption. Join the lively bunch of Lakers fans who frequent our place to watch the games!
