Write a letter detailing how the twelve-month payout will hurt you!

I will carry these letters to the BOR staff to support our request for a change in implementation.
At our April 3rd bargaining session, COHE will ask the BOR negotiators to delay implementation of the twelve month payout provision. This will require formal action by the BOR. Faculty have had only five paychecks to adapt to this radical change. Moreover, about 100 SDSU faculty have recently moved from 12-month to 10-month contracts.
When, we negotiated the contract, we did not anticipate the changes to 12-month contracts at SDSU and we thought ALLfaculty would get more than one year's notice. The late imposition f the terms make it very difficult for faculty to adapt to this change. Thus, the BOR should make delay implementation until July 1, 2013.
To help make this argument, I am asking for your help. I am instigating a letter-writing campaign to demonstrate the pain that hundreds of faculty will feel with this change. I have personally spoken with more than two dozen faculty who will have a very difficult time adjusting to the twelve-month payout with short notice. I implore you to prepare a letter, brief or lengthy, that details how this change will affect you. It may be anonymous, confidential, or open; your choice. Please reply to this message with your letter before Monday, April 2.
Information on Imposed Changes
For your information, I include a summary of the Imposed Terms prepared by the BOR Office. It is an excellent overview of the changes imposed by the BOR. Also, here is a link to a recording of a forum in Vermillion hosted by the USD Senate. In about 90 minutes, the two lead negotiators, Jim Shekleton and myself, answer questions about the changes.
