COHE E-Meeting, Tuesday, April 19
4:00 p.m., Central (3:00 p.m., Mountain)

Dear COHE member,

Please remember, we have an all-COHE e-meeting using Adobe Connect on Tuesday, April 19, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Central (3:00 - 5:00 p.m., Mountain).  This message includes some new documents in the next section, but the remaining sections are the same as the previous message I sent last week.

Brookings area members are invited to gather in Wagner Hall 373, SDSU, at the appointed time to view it projected onto a screen and hosted locally.  Others, please contact your local leaders for the location on your campus.  Or any member may attend using their own computer by following the instructions below.

DOCUMENTS

These documents will help you follow the discussion.

  • This document is the same round-up document I sent last week. It contains the live proposals, counter-proposals, and tentatively agreed items prior to our marathon session last weekend.
  • This Word document replaces the one I sent last week, which was incomplete.  It highlights the work we did April 8 - 11, essentially showing only the changes from the round-up document above.
  • This list contains the six topical areas of proposals, first time available.
  • This contains our original proposals.
  • This outlines the trade offers rejected and accepted, first time available.
  • Here is the current contract.

The remaining information is copied from my last message.

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

Anyone with the URL above may join.  Please share it with COHE members only.  When you arrive, choose guest and enter your full name and your university (e.g., Gary Aguiar - SDSU).  The meeting will be recorded for those who cannot attend.

Several campuses are arranging an on-campus smart classroom where you can attend with other COHE members.  Please contact your local leaders for this information.

I will be on audio and video.  Each bargainer is encouraged to equip themselves with a microphone so they can act as a presenter to share information via audio.  Others will be spectators, who can see, hear, and chat.

The goal of this meeting is to update you on the negotiating progress.  We will present the provisions we have tentatively agreed to, the items we have traded, and the issues which remain unsettled.

Non-bargainers are encouraged to ask questions to understand the decisions the Negotiating Committee made.  If you have ideas on how we can blunt the inappropriate application of their remaining proposals by seeking counter-proposals, we welcome these.  However, this meeting is NOT intended to allow non-bargainers to propose specific language or provisions.

Your brother in defense of faculty rights,

Gary Aguiar
