Greetings!
We invite you to attend a PSE & Workload Seminar, this week Thursday and Friday, 3:30 p.m., Wagner Hall 114.
COHE is uniquely positioned to acquire information from across campus on a range of issues.  We, too, remain concerned about the recent changes in the PSE process and its relationship to departmental Standards.

We have been gathering information from a number of sources, including the Provost.  We would like to share our insights and suggestions with you.   Please stop by one of these workshops.  We offer a safe, nurturing, impartial and frank discussion.  We want to answer your questions and provide you with help as you manage your career at SDSU.

COHE members met with the Provost last Friday to ask pointed questions.  She shared a draft of her proposed changes to salary policy, when we see a salary increase.  She allowed us to share it with you.  She and we invite your comments.

If we see systemic errors in PSE assessments, we may surmise that the application of the Standards documents are not following the letter or spirit of the collective bargaining agreement.  In that situation, the proper tool is to file a grievance.  It could be a class-action grievance filed by COHE, individual grievances, or both.   We will discuss these options at these seminars as well.

Grievances are the proper and legal means by which faculty address job-related actions.  Meritorious grievances alert upper management about particular problems in the system.  Individual department heads should not fear these grievances which are directed at a system-wide misapplication of the rules.
