The Greening of Premier Subaru |
If you have been by our dealership, you have definitely noticed the construction work. Premier Subaru is in the middle of a $750,000 renovation of its dealership facilities to improve our buildings for our customers, employees and the environment. While we only did a complete renovation only five years ago, this time around we are able to work on some things that we really wanted to do. Part of this renovation has been to ensure that we are as green an operation as possible. These renovations dovetail with our ongoing environmental initiatives. In "greening our dealership", Premier Subaru has done the following through construction improvements and through process improvements: - Changed interior lighting to the most energy efficient lighting possible - Replace exterior lights with the most energy efficient lighting possible - Replaced the paper hand towel dispensers in our lavatories with hand air dryers - Installed secured shredder boxes to ensure that all discarded office papers are kept in locked cabinets, shredded and recycled. - Installed advanced waste oil furnaces to actually be able to heat portions of our facility using waste motor oil, as opposed to discarding it. - Installed advanced heating/cooling systems to ensure that the buildings are heated and cooled in the most energy efficient manner possible. - Using cloth shop towels for mechanical repairs, which are washed and reused, as opposed to towels that are discarded. In addition, we invested in enhanced technology to ensure that we move towards less "paper" and more "electronic" documents. To that end, we are also working hard to ensure that we have our client's most accurate and up to date email addresses. This will enable us to begin a process where we email you service reminders and notices, as opposed to printing them and mailing them. If you would like to receive your service reminders by email, please email us at info@premiersubaru.com with your email address and we will update the system. We appreciate the environment. We have been supporters of environmental organizations and we try to "practice what we preach". Thank you for your business and your continued confidence in our organization. - Robert Alvine, President/General Manager

Used Car Specials! |
This month, I wanted to focus on some of our late model vehicles. We have recently purchased a number of late model 2008 and 2009 Outbacks from a Subaru of America sale out of Utah. These particular vehicles were owned by Subaru of America and because of their Wyoming origin, are cleaner than cars from the Northeast! This car in particular is a beautiful Deep Bronze 2009 Outback, virtually brand new with only 3,600 miles on it, that you can get for a nice discount over new.
Retail Price: $25,439 Internet Special Price: $24,250!
We also have a late model 2009 Subaru Impreza 5-door with the very rare Satellite Radio/Navigation design. If this vehicle looks familiar to a few of you, it is because it actually spent its "infancy", so to speak, as a member of our esteemed Courtesy Loaner Car Program. This vehicle only has 4,700 miles on it.
Retail Price: $21,887 Internet Special Price: $20,497!
These vehicles represent only two of the approximately 60 vehicles currently on our lot. Plus, we are continuously buying and selling vehicles, so please check on our inventory by dialing 1(800) 411-4551.

| National Breast Cancer Awareness Month |
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins October 1st. NBCAM is an annual international health campaign run every October, in order to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention and cure. In 1985, AstraZeneca, a company that produces breast cancer drugs, founded the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The pink ribbon we use to symbolize breast cancer was officially established in 1993 by the Vice president of Estee Lauder Companies. They also founded the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Estee Lauder companies have arranged for more than a dozen world-famous landmarks to be illuminated in pink lights to draw awareness to the importance of mammography screening for early detection of the disease, as well as research. This included the White House.
Bring in this page featuring the pink ribbon for your oil change service, in the month of October, and $5 of the proceeds will be donated to the Connecticut Breast Cancer Foundation. DID YOU KNOW.... - According to the most current statistics provided by The American Cancer Society, Connecticut had the third highest rate of new cases of breast cancer in the United States. - While deaths related to breast cancer have decreased due to early detection and advances in treatment, breast cancer is still the second leading cause of cancer related deaths among Connecticut women.

 Letters from Happy Customers!
Hi Bob,
I know this is long over due, however my husband and I just used the Bluefish tickets you gave us and we had a great time at the game. Originally you had given us tickets for July 21st; that game was rained out. We had to reschedule and we got tickets for (the game on Sept. 19th). I just want to say Thank You, and appreciate the night out on Premier Subaru.
Thanks Again,
Michele & Gary Brennan

| Nama Says |
|
Barb "Nama" Mullen has been with Premier Subaru since the dealership opened in 2000. She has over 20 years experience in the auto industry, and has gained many loyal customer during her time at Premier.
Nama says it's all about balance! Years ago a dear friend taught me to have balance in my life. All work and no play makes Nama burn a fiery swan dive into the land of exhaustion, despair, crankiness, and lackluster performance in all areas of my life. Pops, Max, and I made some balance with a vacation to Squam Lake in New Hampshire. Squam is that peaceful lake where "On Golden Pond" was filmed. Yes, Pops was referred to as "you ol' poop" all week, yes, there were loons, and yes, the phrase Squam Calm became reality. You know you're in the midst of a good get away when you can't remember what day it is! We all made new friends, even Max, and Nama entertained Friday night cooking a roast in a pot on the four burner stove in our little cabin. The meat is succulent and the sauce goes well with egg noodles or fettuccine. Anyone interested in the recipe can email me at bmullen@premiersubaru.com. Balance - many long work days during Cash for Clunkers - time to regroup with my two favorite guys! Vacation - relaxing, rejuvenating, and even time to read three books and cook. The weekend after vacation it was the dust bowl at Guilford Fair which beats the mud bog it usually is every year. Once again balance entered my life. Our Premier booth was moved up front this year - if you missed us we were to the right of the entrance with a front row view of the main entertainment all weekend - Tino Wallenda and the Flying Cortes. Tino is a member of the famous Wallenda family - Google them and him and you can read how for many years they have entertained on the high wire without a net. Their first ever performance the net hadn't arrived and the show went on without it ending with a fifteen minute standing ovation. They've worked without a net ever since and continue to perform even after tragedies struck. Tino balanced on a wire over 70 feet in the air high over the fair grounds seven times over the weekend. Friday was very windy. Nama held her breath feeling those gusts as Tino moved across the wire exhaling when he made it to the other side. Balance - Tino excels at it! So Nama says this month make some time for some balance in your life. Cook something, bake something, go for a walk, pick apples, do something that you enjoy. Life goes by too quickly not to!
