| Why It's Important to Have your Car Properly Checked |
| It is very important to have your Subaru properly inspected by a dealer which has mechanics to work on your car that are well-versed in the Subaru product. Our technicians are properly trained, four of which have reached Master Technician status. Our consultants have placed in the top echelon of Subaru Service Consultants on tests. As a result, they often are able to find mistakes on vehicles that have been serviced elsewhere.
Servicemen that are not properly trained or managed are more likely to make mistakes - the results of which could costs you hundreds or even thousands of dollars more trying to fix the problem on your car, a problem that could be avoided.
For example, look at the two pictures here - Master Technician Dave Hulford was inspecting a vehicle and found the following problem. On the left is a properly serviced automatic transmission with the appropriate filter over it. On the right is the vehicle that Hulford was inspecting - he discovered that this transmission had an OIL filter over it, which means that instead of transmission fluid, there was oil in the transmission lines. If not corrected, the result would be more difficult shifting due to greater pressure, leading to greater wear and tear and ultimately more money to fix the transmission. Hulford resolved the issue by switching to the proper filter.

One of the more overlooked maintenance items in a new vehicle, Subaru or otherwise, is the HEPA Filter. This filter captures mold, bacteria, spores, fungi, nicotine oils, odors, and organic and non organic debris before they enter the passenger cabin. The HEPA Filter should be replaced once a year or every 7,500 miles(more frequently under dusty conditions) to ensure quality air in the passenger compartment and to maintain the filter's dust collection ability.
