Lease Specials

With the arrival of the 2010 model year now upon us, we wanted to be the first to offer you, our loyal customers, some great opportunities to lease your 2010 Subaru.

"Cash for Clunkers" arrives

By this point, you are probably aware of the recently passed "Cash for Clunkers" bill, offering as much as $3,500 or $4,500 for turning in an older, gas-guzzling automobile. Although the official rules on this plan won't be in place until approximately July 23(unless timetables change), here is what we can tell you about the Car Allowance Rebate System, the professional name for "Cash for Clunkers":

- Your vehicle must be less than 25 years old on the day you trade it in, and must be continuously registered and insured for at least a year prior to that date.
- You must purchase or lease a new vehicle - used cars do not qualify.
- Generally, trade-in vehicles must get 18 or less MPG, although the largest trucks and cargo vans will have different requirements.
- Dealers will apply the credit directly at point of purchase, so no vouchers needed.
- Program will run through November 1 or until funds are exhausted, whichever comes first.
- Since the vehicle you are trading in is required to be destroyed, the law requires the dealer to disclose to you and estimate the "scrap value" of your trade-in.

Three Subaru Cars named "Best Bets"!

Cars.com just named three Subaru vehicles - the Impreza, the Impreza WRX STI, and the Forester - on their "Best Bets" list. Cars can qualify for this list with having IIHS ratings of "Good", better than average reliability, and better than average fuel mileage. The Impreza and STI won the honor in the "Sports Car" Category, while Forester took home the award in the "SUV and Crossover" Category.

In other news, the Subaru Forester also won an award from Parents Magazine, in conjunction with Edmunds.com, by being named to the list of "Best Family Cars for 2009". All candidate vehicles were tested for safety, quality, performance, and family-friendly features. This accolade, along with the cars.com "Best Bet" recognition, is now added to the Subaru Forester's expanding list which also includes Motor Trend Sport/Utility of the Year and MotorWeek's Driver's Choice award for Best Small Utility.

On June 25, Subaru of New England Service Director Brian Giffen officially awarded Gary Christiansen, our certified Subaru Service Consultant, with the Silver Award for his performance at the Subaru Service Advisor Summit. Gary has certainly demonstrated his vast knowledge with assisting our many loyal customers, many of whom know him on a first-name basis. Special Announcements!

Over the past few months, the lives of many of our staff here at Premier Subaru have had or are expecting some big changes! Can we say Weddings, Babies, and New Homeowners? This month, we decided that we would like to share with you some of the big news and events that are happening here with our family at Premier Subaru.

- A few weeks ago, Office Assistant Victoria Mackenzie became engaged to Master Technician Stephen Romsky, whom she met while they both worked for Premier Subaru.
- In August, Master Technician Dave Hulford will be getting married to Cheryl Fleisher, who was an Advisor for our Service Department.
- Technician Eric Forman is expecting his first child in the next few months. They will be welcoming home a baby boy.
- Shop Assistant Johnny Rodriguez is happily expecting his second child in about 6 months.
- In November, Customer Care Manager Jennifer Greenberg will be having her first child - we are excited to say that it's a girl!
- Along with just recently closing on his new home, New Car Sales Manager Stan Nitkowski will be welcoming his first child in September. Is it a boy or girl? It's a surprise so we'll soon find out!
- In the middle of July, Office Assistant Virginia Augustine will become the proud Grandmother to her 5th grandchild.
- Congrats are due for Parts Manager Dave Harger who is the proud Daddy to his 3rd child, daughter, London Brook.
- In February of this year, Parts Consultant Chris Elwell became a new homeowner of a house in Meriden!
- In April of this year, Office Manager Amy Wrinn became the proud new homeowner of a beautiful house in West Haven!
- Within the next month or so, New Car Sales Consultant Jeff Irzyk, will be closing on his very first home.

We are all very excited and happy for them so feel free to stop on by and wish your congratulations as well!

Letters from Happy Customers!

Bob,

These, of course, are the comments today about the Bluefish Game (Monday, June 29). We did really enjoy a perfect night at the ballpark! The home team beat Camden 18-9. The same player (Maria remembers the name) hit two Bluefish home runs, driving in 7 runs! His first was high up on the wall in left and the second went clear over the net to the brick wall of the Arena. Lots of action: bunts, doubles, steals, great throws to second, complex double play attempts, dropped balls (by Camden), lots of different pitchers, spirited calls by the umps and a time out caused, not by rain, but by an electrical outage!

And all of it right there in front of us without anybody's head in the way! Those seats, Section 10, Row A, are the best...between the visitor's dugout and home, right behind the next batter up! The game wasn't over 'til 11:00!

I was the fortunate person to win these 4 tickets at the raffle among participants of the new owners' session Tuesday evening, June 2nd. Thank you!
