Matt Olson to be in "Catch A Rising Star Country Music Talent Show!"

Artreach is so proud to announce that Matt Olson has been chosen as one of the finalists in the Catch a Rising Star Country Music Talent Show! Matt has been an Artreach member since the mid 90's. He has acted in Second Step Players shows both locally and as part of our national touring troupe. Matt is a favorite in Artreach Music Showcases, where he has performed songs by artists from Green Day to Josh Groban to Ray Charles. He can sing 'em all. Matt also wrote two rap songs which were produced as part of an Artreach CD project called "Outsider Music." Click here for more information about attending the show!

Happy 25th Birthday, Second Step Players!
Did you know that Second Step Players theater troupe is celebrating 25 years of stigma busting? We'll be sending several newsletters this year to keep you abreast of all of the happenings here at Artreach during this exciting Silver Anniversary year.
Norwich local public events this year include:- Artreach Music Showcase
- Round 2 of Stand Up For Mental Health - CT
- Mindfulness training/retreat
- Inner Peace/Global Peace Poetry and Music night
- Synesthesia Art Show (created during music rehearsals
- The History of The Second Step Players Movie Night.
Those events are happening between now and May. I'll be announcing dates in e-mail blasts, and you can also find out about them on our Events Calendar on the Website. Link to Events Calendar
We plan to spend our summer providing service to others by participating in fundraising walks and helping community theater groups with backstage and house crew. Our music program members will be looking for places to set up and play in the community.
Fall is Second Step Players touring time (call us at 860-887-0014 to book a show!). We'll end our 25th year with the Second Step Players Holiday Follies at the Spirit of Broadway Theater.

Artreach launches new Music Program!
Artreach is excited to announce that we now have an expanded music program. We're making it up as we go along based on the interests of program members.
So far, we have added additional guitar classes, and beginning next week we will hosting Tuesday afternoon song circles. Members and community friends who want to share a song will come together to play and sing. This is a great place to test out original songs in a supportive environment.
Rehearsals are underway for the next Artreach Music Showcase, as well. We hope that having more full time participation in music will allow people's confidence to build. We'll be looking for Summer venues (stages on town greens, etc.) where people can play. Artreach has lots of talented members who would love to acoustically decorate the Norwich soundscape during the warmer months.
